This is an amazing, and unbelievable urbex location in Bali. Where can you find two airplanes in a limestone quarry? How the heck they get there? The biggest one is a Boeing 737-200. You can get a really nice view of the two airplanes if you climb to the top of the hill, above the quarry.
It is not really clear how the plane ended at this location. Based on various sources, it was transported there in parts and remounted on site. Others say that this was owned by an Australian who planned to transform them into a restaurant. The construction didn’t start yet due to missing permissions. Probably he was just run out of money. There are rumors about the containers: they are filled with kitchenware, chairs, and other aircraft appliances.

Noone saw it was transported here, so it’s possible that it was shipped in the containers to the quarry, and reassembled here. Others say it was meant to be turned into a tourist attraction – which is actually happening, it’s really famous on urbex lovers visiting Bali.
It’s an unbranded plane, there is a painted Indonesian flag on the tail and a “Mandala” text on the side, “PK-RII” sign on the top of the right-wing. The aircraft was operated by the Arkia Israeli Airlanes in 1983, register number was: 4x-BAC. It was least to another airline, Dan-Air in the UK I 1983-1984, registered as G-BLDE. It was then sold to Mandala Airlines in 1993, and it flew until 2007 with the sign PK-RII which is still visible. It was finished active operation around 2008.
Perhaps the 3 visible columns made by oil barrels supposed to be the holder structure for the airplane in the future? I doubt these can hold it.
@Sonikhanem says in her video that the guard of the site actually lives in the plane.
The 737‘er was moved several times when we were there it was at the south entrance of the quarry, which was a lucky position because we could make nice photos with the full view of the rocks on the left. It seems that the owner started to renovate the plane because in older pictures it’s clearly visible that it was in bad shape. A nice road and stairs are already built down. Also, a ladder was constructed to the front door of the plane.
The cockpit of another smaller airplane is also here near to the other wall of the quarry. It belonged to a “…QTRA Air” airlines.
